Topic: Third Cabinet of Aldo Moro - Italian Years of Lead

The year is 1968. Italy is burning. Spurred on by the same revolutionary spirit of social reform that has struck America, France, and the whole of the democratic world, student movements and industrial labor organizations have taken to the streets, exchanging bullet fire with police and sending terrified Italian stock brokers across the Alps into Switzerland. Emboldened by the rebel slogan, “Che cosa vogliamo? Tutto!” (What do we want? Everything!), these far-left radicals have made increasingly aggressive demands, and plot to bring down the government entirely through a series of strikes, and even, some whisper, terrorism. Against both the left and the government lies an underground movement of far-right militants and criminal gangs, inspired by nostalgia for the fascists of World War II and the violent, anti-democratic thought of “super-fascist” Julius Evola. If this wasn’t complicated enough, the Sicilian Mafia, American, Soviet, and Italian intelligence agencies, and hundreds of other insurgent factions lurk in the shadows, ready to install their new regime in Europe’s cradle of civilization. As a minister in the Third Cabinet of Aldo Moro, it is your job, through compromise, diplomacy, and purposeful directives, to save the Italian Republic from these warring factions - or join them, and place the fate of Europe in your own hands.
