Apple Picking with UCMUN

Behind the scenes of UConn Model United Nations, there are over a hundred dedicated members working year-round to prepare for the annual conference. Our organization is entirely student-run, so the staff is comprised of undergraduates – from political science, to physics, to psychology majors – who each bring something unique to the table. Between class, conducting research, and commuting to internships, they still find time to devote to UCMUN. Over the course of the past year, the staff has been responsible for learning parliamentary procedure, preparing topic presentations, writing detailed background guides, managing conference logistics, and more.

This weekend, we took a much-needed break, and headed to Buell’s orchard for a staff field trip. Apple picking with our UCMUN team was the perfect way to destress during midterm season and enjoy the fall weather. As a thank you for all of the hard work, the club even treated everyone to apple cider doughnuts. It was great to spend time with each other outside of our weekly meetings – now we’re just looking forward to next time!
